Wedding Ceremony

When I serve as the officiant at a wedding, my heart is to walk alongside the couple, offering guidance, creating a meaningful ceremony, and speaking a Christ centered blessing over their new marriage. Here is a look at what that typically includes:

1. Spiritual Leadership

  • Welcome and prayer – Opening with words that honor God's presence and set a joyful, worshipful tone

  • Scripture – Sharing passages that highlight God's design for love and covenant such as Genesis 2, Ecclesiastes 4, 1 Corinthians 13, and Ephesians 5

  • Message – A short, encouraging reflection on marriage, tailored to the couple's journey and faith

2. Pastoral Care

  • Premarital counseling – Spending time together before the wedding, helping the couple prepare both spiritually and practically for life ahead

  • Personal Touch – Learning their story so the ceremony reflects their relationship in a genuine way

  • Prayer and blessing – Covering the couple in prayer and inviting God's presence into every part of their marriage

3. Ceremony Leadership

  • Vows – Guiding the couple as they speak their covenant promises before God and their loved ones

  • Rings – Leading this beautiful symbol of lifelong commitment

  • Pronouncement – Joyfully declaring them husband and wife

  • Blessing – Sending them out with words of hope, encouragement, and God's blessing

4. Practical Support

  • Ceremony Flow – Helping plan the order of service so everything runs smoothly including the processional, vows, rings, kiss, presentation, and recessional

  • Legal Details – Taking care of the marriage license and official signing
